To provide frontline disaster aid and support sustainable Community efforts to be self-sufficient.
Mutual Aid Ka Lāhui Hawai'i is made up of and led by Community members and is a 501c3 O'ahu nonprofit organiation. The vast majority are Hawaiian, born and raised in these islands. Everyone on the leadership team has a unique background and brings different experiences, challenges, and talents to their position. There is a good chance youʻve seen them supporting their Community on the frontlines already.
President: James Auld
A family man and small business owner, James is always ready to put in work. You probably have seen him leading the security, cooking food, or making people smile in some way.
Treasurer: Michael Hutchinson
You have probably eaten some of his delicious food if youʻve attended any Community event on O'ahu. A father and a husband who you canʻt stop from working (his wife has tried) and he has a massive heart.
Secretary: Healani Sonoda-Pale
She is a true example of a "hammer." Fearless, bold, and determined, Healani will never miss an opportunity to stand for people who need it, no matter where they are located. She is a student of Mana Wahine Dr. Haunani K. Trask and an educator.
Board - Leianuenue Niheu
Originally from Papakōlea, she has been fighting for sovereignty and demilitarization for over 3 decades. She is a mother, friend, writer, and Mauna Medic. Determined to advance the condition of Kanaka Maoli in the Hawaiian Islands.
